DO.
CLEAN YOUR COUNTERTOPS REGULARLY
with a solution of warm water and dish soap. Immediately wipe away any spills, and keep countertops free from dirt and debris.
USE TRIVETS, COOLING RACKS OR HOT PADS
under hot items. Most natural stones stand up very well to direct heat, but not all do. Protect any countertop from thermal cracking and sealant or seam glue breakdown by displacing heat.
TEST NATURAL STONE COUNTERTOPS SEMI-YEARLY
for sealant wear. Not all natural stone countertops require sealing; contact us to determine if your countertops do.
CONTACT GREAT NORTHERN GRANITE IMMEDIATELY
if any damage occurs. Sensitive areas include overhangs, near sinks, cooktops, and seams. Our expert team is capable of repairing the most difficult issues including chips, scratches, stains, and fissures.
DON’T.
DO NOT USE ANY CAUSTIC CLEANSERS
or chemicals on your countertops. Cleaning agents such as vinegar, bleach or citrus-based cleaners can damage the sealant and/or finish of a variety of countertops.
DO NOT SIT OR STAND ON YOUR COUNTERTOPS!
Your countertops may be extremely durable, but they are not flexible and will crack under enough pressure.
DO NOT CUT DIRECTLY ON COUNTERTOPS
While some softer stones may be damaged under high pressure or force, your kitchen knives and utensils will be damaged by working directly on your countertops. Always use cutting boards.
